Get kids excited about Ramadan’s lessons with a fun calendar
Countdown the days with your kids.
Ramadan is almost here and you might be thinking of ways to get your kids excited. Consider making a Ramadan calendar with them. Together you can track the days and share important spiritual lessons.
These calendars usually include one spot for each day of the month with lessons and treats sprinkled throughout. We compiled a few thought starters if you’re looking to make your own at home.
- A poster of a mosque with doors that lift to reveal a surprise
- 30 party favor boxes filled with treats and notes
These are some of the most popular ideas we found online.
A poster with 30 envelopes.
This is a simpler version which you can also include a small treat. Here’s an easy tutorial, and here’s one that’s a little more in-depth.
Fabric alternative.
You can make a fabric version of the poster if you like to sew. Sew 30 fabric or felt squares onto a larger piece of fabric or felt, decorate, and place items in each pocket. Fold down the top to sew a loop to stick a rod through, tie a long string to each end of the rod, and use the string to hang over a hook on the wall. Here’s a simple tutorial and one that’s a bit fancier.
If you’re short on time, check out these ready-made options from Eidway.com, Etsy, Party City and Crate and Barrel.
