Expect to See Blue in Home Décor Trends for 2020
Feeling a touch blue as winter drags on? It seems that Pantone Color Institute was feeling blue too.
The institute has chosen Classic Blue for its color of the year for 2020, so expect to see a lot of blue in home décor trends this year.
Pantone describes Classic Blue as “reminiscent of the sky at dusk.” In its announcement, Pantone said it’s an appropriate color for the transition to a new decade in changing times.
“Instilling calm, confidence, and connection, this enduring blue hue highlights our desire for a dependable and stable foundation on which to build as we cross the threshold into a new era,” the company said in its announcement.
Trend watchers also say green, earthy colors, and warmer neutrals are popular this year, along with unique looks like distressed walls and vintage touches. Forbes reports that the appreciation of uniqueness reflects a desire for authenticity, as people look to express their individuality and reflect their personalities. It’s about creating a space that makes you happy.
